Welcome To Ely Mill

The WDA is seeking to regenerate the site of the former Arjo Paper Mill in Ely, Cardiff. The site lies 2 miles to the west of Cardiff City centre and extends to approximately 20 hectares. Much of the site has been cleared but some short term accommodation is being provided in the remaining buildings.

An outline planning application has been submitted (November 2004) to Cardiff County Council proposing development of a sustainable community comprising 900 residential units, 4,000 square metres of office accommodation, up to 1,500 square metres of local retail and community facilities and substantial areas of public open space. Detailed design briefs are currently being prepared and, subject to planning consent being obtained, the Agency hopes to bring the first phase of development to the market in 2005/06. This will involve substantial infrastructure improvements and a major mixed-use development within an urban context.
