" SA1 is good news not only to Swansea, but to the whole of South Wales."
"This will do a lot to improve peoples opinion of Swansea, and I congratulate the Welsh Assembly Government for taking an entrepreneurial stance on developing Swansea and South Wales. The speed of growth is very exciting."

About SA1 Swansea Waterfront
SA1 Swansea Waterfront aims to build upon Swansea's growing popularity whilst maintaining a strong sense of community. This will be achieved by integrating the site with the city and supporting existing and anticipated developments in the Maritime Quarter of Swansea Waterfront. Footbridges will be instrumental in creating strong visual, physical and functional links between the two key waterfront areas. Green areas such as a new public square at the western side of the site and public art will be incorporated into the planning to provide a vibrant and attractive environment in which to live, work or visit.
SA1 Swansea Waterfront will become a lively, attractive waterfront destination fostering a high standard of urban design and architecture with an emphasis on innovation, modernity and flexibility. The development potential of the scheme will be optimised using an imaginative mix of land uses and urban design solutions. The development will be implemented in phases where each phase can be economically serviced and completed in a self-contained and sustainable fashion. Office developments will focus on high quality accommodation attractive to SMEs and corporate bodies, particularly in the e-commerce and knowledge based sectors, and residential development opportunities will include predominantly high density waterside housing.
