Machine Rooms

Technium CAST is equipped with two 232 sq m air conditioned machine rooms to house the high performance computers and communications equipment to be used in support of Technium CAST core operations.  Both the rooms and the corridor separating them are built on suspended flooring allowing easy access to link equipment and come with CAT6 cabling.  Both rooms are air conditioned with circulation via both floor and ceiling vents and cold water circulation is available for machine cooling if required.  Access to the machine rooms is through two levels of security using a swipe card system.

Visualisation / 3D Suite

Technium CAST is equipped with a visualisation suite in which research and/or demonstrations can be performed.  The visualisation server supports high fidelity, large volume visualisation and high polygon rate work coupled with a comprehensive range of graphics APIs.  The suite features an immersive projection laboratory with front projected screen, 3 DLP high-res projectors with active stereo and surround sound.

Development Laboratories

A total of 372 sq m of developmental laboratory space is available on the first floor in which the Technium CAST technical team will work on collaborative R&D projects, consultancy and associated projects.  For the most part the space will be open-plan but there are a number of secure developmental laboratories available for housing more sensitive projects if required.
