Welsh food and drink producers are preparing to travel across ‘the pond’ for the 53rd Summer Fancy Food Show in New York (July 8-10)

Held at the Jacob K. Javits Centre, the 2007 Show promises to be the largest ever with 140,000 products, 2,300 exhibitors from 73 counties, and 52 international pavilions.

Organised by International Business Wales on behalf of the Food and Market Development Division within the Welsh Assembly Government, five Welsh companies will be exhibiting under the True Taste banner: The Hurns Brewing Company, The Anglesey Sea Salt Company/Halen Mon, The GoodCarb Food Company, The Patchwork Traditional Food Company, and the Llanllyr Water Company.

The Anglesey Sea Salt Co. / Cwmni Halen Môn will be exhibiting its range of sea salts and black pepper as well as laverbread.
The company will also be demonstrating its products at renowned New York retail outlets, Chelsea Market Baskets and Fairways.

The GoodCarb Food Company will be concentrating on its original Granola breakfast cereal and new organic Granola breakfast cereal, as well as Lizi’s Granola Crunch - bags of bite size cereal clusters which are available in three varieties - real Belgian chocolate, Sicilian lime and ginger, and treacle and pecan nut.
The Llanelli company make quality food products using natural ingredients which have a very small effect on blood sugar levels. All products are low GL 5.5, slow energy release, blood sugar friendly and wheat free.

Producer of award-winning hand-made pâtés, pies, terrines and quiches, The Patchwork Traditional Food Company will be showing its range of handmade chicken liver pates which are now also produced in America.
The six strong chicken liver range - Brandy & Herb, Triple Sec & Orange, Tequila & Cranberry, Bourbon & Blueberry, Mushroom & Garlic - are made in Pennsylvania and distributed throughout the USA.
Also on the menu in New York from the Ruthin-based company will be Welsh Dragon’s Pâté made with venison liver with chilli.

The award-winning  Llanllyr Water Company, which was recently launched its SOURCE pure natural spring water in the Canadian market, will be exhibiting its glass 750ml and 330ml bottles of still and sparkling water.

The Hurns Brewing Company from Swansea will be taking its new Magic Lagyr, - believed to be the only bottled lager made in Wales - as well as five of its bottled beers and its Taffy Apples cider.

Also taking part in the Show will be Visit Wales to promote Wales as a tourism destination for food lovers and travellers alike.
