Innovation centre facilities

The following key facilities are available to young technology businesses based at Technium Digital@Sony Innovation Centre:

Environmental testing chambers	Sony's technology centre includes environmental testing chambers which can be used to test new products' reactions to different environmental conditions, such as: abrasion, buckling, expansion, immersion in water and extremes of temperature. Drop and vibration testing facilities are also available.
Anechoic chamber	New products are legally required to satisfy emissions, radiation and electro-magnetic compatibility standards to achieve a CE marque. Sony's technology centre is home to a three-metre anachoic chamber.
Clean room facilities	Sony's clean room is class 10,000 standard and is currently used to assemble optical head blocks for video cameras).
Advanced manufacturing facilities	The advanced manufacturing facilities at Sony's technology centre include the latest surface mounting, X-ray and 'ball grid' array equipment used to mount components in electronic devices, as well as hand mounting capabilities suited to the assembly of circuit boards.
