ECM² Site
The site consists of: a Main Building, the NDT Building and the Energy Research Building.
Main Building
All the offices and laboratories are air conditioned and all the blocks, except A Block, have compressed air and natural gas available. All areas are networked with 2Mb broadband connectivity.
A Block - This two storey building contains offices ranging from approximately 150 to 1000 ft² in area, reception area and comprehensive conference centre. The conferencing facilities consist of two large conference rooms (80+ delegates per room) and five other rooms accommodating 12 to 30 delegates, with state of the art equipment including broadband access. The conference centre is available to all organisations at a competitive rate.
B Block - 28 periphery laboratory and/or office units, of approximately 150 to 700 ft² in area, surrounding two central walled suites of 900 ft² (one with raised skylight roof to allow 15 ft clearance).
C Block - 14 units consisting of eleven outer offices/laboratories servicing three light manufacturing/process suites with 15 ft high ceilings, fork lift access and high load floors. Units range in size from 150 ft² to 800 ft² in area.

D Block - 17 laboratory/office units either side of a central corridor varying in size from 100 to 1000 ft² in area.
E block - 25 laboratory/office units up to 500 ft² in area, either side of a central corridor. A self contained 1500 ft² unit, subdivided into three main areas, with gantry crane and wide, high doors for ease of access is also available.
F Block - This two storey block consists of ground and first floor office/laboratory units, ranging in size from 100 to 300 ft² in area, adjacent to three high-ceiling bays. These bays are approximately 2,500, 4,000 and 4,500 ft² in area, all with a height of 18 ft, gantry cranes and large roller shutter doors.
NDT Building
The
A self-contained 16,000 ft2 engineering unit. One end has 2,000 ft2 of support office, laboratory, and kitchen facilities, currently split into 14 rooms of various sizes on two floors. These face out onto the high ceiling area which has 14,000 ft2 of load bearing floor space, 25 ft plus height clearance and articulated lorry access.
