The relocation of manufacturing capacity from the UK to other countries has brought with it problems of knowledge transfer and compliance.  This is especially true for companies operating in the oil and petrochemical sectors where safe operation of plant is paramount.

RAP International has bridged this gap by collating a comprehensive knowledge base of British safety know-how, organising it in an innovative and clever manner and making it available for users in a simple and intuitive way.  We have then translated this knowledge base into different languages in such a manner that the resultant risk assessments can be carried out in any one language, and read and understood in any other.

The product has proved to be of special interest to companies with a globally distributed manufacturing base who need to ensure that staff worldwide understand the company ways of carrying out work that will keep them safe.

Already we have translated our system into Chinese and German and we are actively engaged in translations into Flemish, Greek and Italian.  We are currently embarking on a project with one client which should see us place our product and services in 44 countries and in 17 languages across the world.

In all, there are 12 of us in the company each contributing varying degrees of maintenance, safety and programming expertise.  We have been operating for 10 years and have recently moved to Technium 2 to take advantage of the excellent facilities it has to help us do business with clients all over the world
