Xero (Overall Winner - from New Zealand)
Xero began trading in July 2006 and employs 16 people. Zero is an on-line easy to use accounting system designed specifically for small and medium sized businesses. It enables companies to track their cash flow and manage their finances. As an online focused company, Xero facilitates collaboration between the businesses and its advisors. Xero covers the General Ledger, CashBook, Debtors and Creditors etc. As a platform Xero will offer other modules like Expense Management and Time and Cost. The company's Director, Rod Drury was named as New Zealand's PWC Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006.
"Technium Challenge has given our company a fantastic platform to enter the European market. I-Slices Innovation (Country Winner - from South Africa)
I-Slices has developed a range of products to alleviate problems associated with the eyes. The company has developed its range of disposable eye treatment pads based on a patented Cryogel Polymer Technology. The Cryogel Polymer treatment pad is a slow release dermal delivery system that effectively releases active ingredients and moistures into the eye area surrounds to treat various symptoms such as puffiness, dark circles, redness and signs of ageing. The manufacturing process falls under Advanced Manufacturing and is a first worldwide.
